The startup hype of 2020 is carrying on into the new year, with 2021 shaping up to be an exciting time for startup events across the nation. In anticipation we have compiled a list of events for startups to look out for in 2021.  

February 10 | Now or Never: How to Kick Start Your Business in 2021 (Online)

Brought to you by StartUp Creative founder – Kaylene Langford, Now or Never is an event run for startup novices. The online workshop delivers advice on how to convert your idea into a reality, and how to switch gears from procrastination to productivity. Tickets for the virtual event are free.   

February 23 - 25 | Startup Grind Global Conference (Online) 

Startup Grind’s Global Conference is a collaborative webinar for startups and innovators across the globe. The event combines education, opportunity and inspiration with a new choose-what-you-pay model to ensure that the event is more accessible than ever before. 

March 1 - 12 | Pause Fest (Online)

After launching as a small event in Melbourne ten years ago, Pause Fest is now one of the biggest startup events of the year with over 20,000 online and in-person participants. The event spans 12 days, delivering ‘current’ and innovative content for creators, startups and industry pioneers. Pause Fest not only focuses on launching new startups like Canva, but allows businesses to connect and advertise their services. Pause Fest is being described as ‘Woodstock for Digital Natives’ with this year looking to be huge! 

March 5 | Female Founders Pitch Night for International Women’s Day (Online)

In celebration of International Women’s Day, Fishburners is hosting a Female Founders Pitch Night. The event will be held in person and online for a night of networking and pitching ‘Shark Tank-style’. 

May 12 | Girls in Tech (Melbourne)

Girls in Tech Catalyst Conference is back for yet another year. The conference is a chance to connect with like-minded individuals, entrepreneurs and tech startup’s. 2021’s theme is ‘the conversation’ with two jam-packed days of workshops, panel discussions and keynote speakers. 

June 15 – 16 | Innovate Health (Melbourne & Online)

Innovate Health will act as a platform for startups and entrepreneurs to showcase their digital health innovations to a variety of industry specific healthcare professionals and health tech specialists. The two-day event will be held at Rydges Melbourne, and delivered virtually. 

August 25 – 26 | DigiMarCon (Sydney & Online)

DigiMarCon Australia, a digital marketing, media and advertising conference will be returning this year for two days of keynotes, strategy sessions, networking and case studies. The event will run both in-person and online at ANZ Stadium in Sydney. 

October 4 Sydney 2021 | Venture Capital World Summit (Sydney)

The Venture Capital World Summit is a global community for investors and startups, in which investors assist startup’s in gaining capital to scale and grow their business. Their motto is: “When your business and your community prospers, everyone prospers.”  

2021 is brimming with startup events with an array of in-person and digital pitch-nights and conferences to choose from. With the digital trend continuing into this year, events are projected to be more accessible than ever!
